Service, Charity and Freemasonry in the Local Community – Can we Help?
Kindness and charitable giving are deeply ingrained within the principles of Freemasonry and members make positive contributions to their communities and worthwhile causes through fundraising events or volunteer work.
Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable givers in the country, contributing more than £48m to deserving causes in 2018 alone with the Province of Hampshire and IoW providing millions per year to local causes. Freemasons don’t only donate money – over 5 million hours of volunteer work was undertaken by Freemasons in 2018.
We in the Aldershot Army & Navy Lodge Lodge, as well as contributing to central Masonic Charitable Funds also contribute smaller sums, totalling in excess of £2,000 per annum to local charities in the Aldershot area, especially those that have links to the military. In the past three years we have assisted the following charities: The Royal British Legion (Aldershot Branch), the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care (Farnham), QARANC Association Benevolent Fund (Frimley Park Hospital), Parkside - Aldershot & District Learning Disabilities, Ripple Pond (Aldershot) – Veterans’ families support organisation, SSAFA (Aldershot) and the Aldershot Garrison Community Engagement Team.
We would be very interested to hear from any local charity, particularly those with military connections who might require
assistance for a specific problem. Please contact us using this page to see if we can of help, donation or service, in any small
way.
